F.C.A. Ball!

One Advisory team-building activity we do in 8th grade is F.C.A. Ball. It's a version of softball modified to speed up the game. As with most Advisory competitions, we play two rounds; the winners of the first round square off in the championship game.

The first round was played on Friday, May 20^th.

Round 1

~~~  8-1 vs. 8-2  ~~~

Mr. Hatfield's Section 8-1 led throughout much of the game (6 - 2), but Mrs. Gonwa's Section 8-2 had a three-run late inning, brining the score to 6-5. In the next and final inning, Section 8-2 not only held Section 8-1 scoreless, but scored two big runs to win 7-6!

~~~ 8-3 vs. 8-4 ~~~

Mr. Sawyer's Section 8-4 jumped out to a big early lead (5-2), then built it up to 8-2. Mrs. Gee's Section 8-3 slowly started coming back, but it just wasn't enough. In the end, Section 8-4 defeated Section 8-3 by a score of 8-6.

Championship Round

At this point, due to weather and an increasingly tighter schedule, there will be no championship round this year.
